HOW IT BEGAN
The journey began in 2015 where Laura, the owner, was 22 and a waitress in a busy Glasgow restaurant and her partner, Paul, was a kitchen porter in the same restaurant in the heart of Glasgow. Saving and scrimping where they could while caring for their two kittens, Laura and Paul managed to save £600 (enough to pay rent, food and transport for a month) and left the hospitality sector to start their own business, initially by attending craft fairs at weekends before the business took off almost overnight with an insatiable demand. Laura and Paul have always remained extremely hard working, determined and grateful.
Inspired by a lifetime of collecting, Botanic Isles was born and through many years of trial and error and experiments - their own way of working was developed and perfected. Botanic Isles is now stocked in around 200 shops around the world.
In 2020, Botanic Isles went international - with 10 stockists in the United States, expanding our team of collectors to Europe, and increasing our range exponentially.
